Thready
This is what I've been up to. I've been extruding clay to my heart's delight and my fingers' despair. Even with a Makin's Clay extruder (my favorite!), these were painful to create. But oh, how I love them. I have such plans for my little colorful clay threads!!
Here's what got me started: Perusing DDee Wilder's (Malodora) flickr page. Just watching her artwork expand and grow as she takes classes from a plethora of teachers makes me... well... jealous - I mean impressed and inspired! But that's another story.
Visit her etsy store and her flickr page!
Here are threads she made as a result of a class she took with Cynthia Toops:
And this is what she created:
Now, mind you, this is not what I have in mind for my threads. Not exactly, anyway. My ideas are still in the planning stage, experimentation to come!!! I think I need to extrude more colors. Yes. More colors....

Wow, Jael. Thanks for the compliment and the shout-out. I can't wait to see what you come up with.
I think YOU are lucky to live in such a great polymer area. I take so many classes because I live in a polymer vacuum.
On my way up to Minneapolis I stayed with my girlfriend, Georgia Morgan, a very talented polymer artist. She took me to Wind, Water and Light where some of her things reside. There are a lot of people doing wonderful things in your area.
Wow ... talk about taking one's breath away!
I'm looking forward to seeing what you do with your threads.
Dee... Where are the people doing wonderful things in my area? Do you mean art in general, or polymer clay?
I'm still jealous. Sorry ;o)
I've never heard of clay threads but the colors are fantastic and I love the results!
I'm the lucky owner of one of Malodora's nudibranch bracelets, and I love it. If I had unlimited amounts of money, I'd immediately buy everything in her Etsy shop.
As I don't have unlimited funds, I have to satisfy myself with just gazing in awe at her creations.
And I can be proud to be a fellow member of Bead Art Originals with her!
:-)
