When you remove something from your house, you have to expect some... unexpected stuff. The wood joist under the old sliding doors has to be replaced. This means jacking up the area and removing the old wood... I hear the banging and such going on now...

I'm always afraid to start a project on the exterior of the house. We have an old wood house too!
Oh no! I'd be losing my mind!
Fortunately, it was not a difficult fix. For me, anyway - I didn't have to do the work ;)
