"Polymer Clay Guild of Etsy Challenge piece: Personal Hero.
My personal heroes are my parents, for one. They grew up under difficult circumstances, both financially and emotionally: dad in Chicago with an alcoholic father, mom in a very small, rural town near Peoria. They went through the depression. They raised three kids successfully and stayed married for these past 50 years.
Another of my personal heroes is President Jimmy Carter, the first president I was eligible to vote for. He brought Habitat for Humanity into the public eye, he and his wife even working on homes themselves.
Thus, the door with the key. When a person has a home, and loving people in the home, that's where their heart is."
