In memory of Missy

This past Tuesday we lost our precious Missy rabbit to congestive heart failure. We will miss her so much...

We adopted Missy 8 years ago from the local humane society. This was her second time being relinquished because the child who was supposed to care for her grew tired of the responsibility. Apparently the adults involved didn't understand that when they adopted Missy she was THEIR responsibility, and that it sends a terrible message to the child that when you grow tired of your responsibilities you just dump them.

Missy captured my heart when she snuggled up to me in the humane society's "get acquainted" room. She held my heart for these 8 years, greeting my "hello you gorgeous bunny you!" with head tosses and dances, and leaning into my hand when I stroked her cheek. Her soft rex fur and beautiful big ears sealed the deal.

We currently have 4 house rabbits living in our home: Hershey, Munchkin, Cubby and Georgia.

Home is where the rabbit is!

Check out the House Rabbit Society to see how you can make your house a home with a rabbit....

So sorry to hear about Missy. It sounds like she had a good life with you as her owner. It's a lovely photo of her.
